    Marketing leadership on demand

Fractional CMO & interim Head of Marketing for SMEs.

Experienced marketing leadership when you need it. On demand, with a clear goal.

I take over strategic and operational marketing leadership inside your company on demand, as it fits best. As Fractional CMO, interim Head of Marketing or Growth Lead, with a clear goal: to build, improve or scale something until it runs predictably. Also for new markets, for example market entry into LATAM or DACH, where my international experience translates directly into traction.

    Agency or marketing leadership?

    An agency executes.

Campaigns, website, content, ads. It needs someone who tells it what to do, what that is supposed to achieve, and who checks whether it did.

    Marketing leadership decides.

What the company needs, which agency or tool delivers it, what it may cost, and how you recognise whether it works. That person sits on your side of the table.

If you pay an agency and cannot say what it brings in, you do not need a better agency. You need the person who steers it. That is me, on demand.

    What is a Fractional CMO?

A Fractional CMO is an experienced marketing and growth leader who does not work full time, but on demand, exactly as your company needs. Instead of an agency that delivers from the outside, or a full time hire you cannot yet justify or fully utilize, you get integrated leadership experience inside your company, with a clear goal from day one.

I work as part of your team, not as an external vendor. I sit in your meetings, lead your marketing team, decide with management and build the systems that keep running after I leave. Pragmatic, no buzzwords, with the clear goal of building, improving or scaling something until marketing runs predictably at your company.

    Three roles, one approach.

Depending on the situation I wear different hats. What stays the same: I lead, I decide with you, and I stay until the systems run.

    Fractional CMO

Strategic marketing leadership at C level: positioning, market strategy, team leadership, board reporting, budget ownership. For companies that need an experienced CMO but not yet full time.

    Interim Head of Marketing

Operational marketing leadership with a clear mandate: content, campaigns, channels, managing agencies, setting up reporting. For SMEs in transition, growth phases or during a vacancy in marketing leadership.

    Fractional Head of Growth

Most recently as VP Marketing & Sales at an EdTech scale up: sales, marketing, partnerships and affiliate, plus a team spanning marketing, communications and sales.

    How the engagement works.

No slide deck and then gone. A clear, predictable framework with a concrete goal: to build, improve or scale something until it holds on its own.

    • Clear goal from the start: what to build, improve or scale.
    • Scope: flexible, tailored to the need and the goal.
    • Duration: an engagement over several months, with the option to extend or transition to a permanent marketing lead.
    • Role: integrated in the team, in meetings, reporting and decisions. Not external.
    • Outcome: marketing systems that keep running after I leave. Handover to internal leadership included.
    • No permanent employment contract, no social contributions, no fixed cost that locks you in.

    Who this is for.

    • •SMEs and growing companies between 5 and 200 employees that would not yet utilize a full time CMO but need marketing leadership.
    • •Founders who want to move out of the DIY phase and need a layer above their first marketing hire.
    • •Companies in transition: after the departure of the current marketing lead, before a replacement, or during a transformation phase.
    • •Family businesses that want to raise marketing and sales to a new structural level without outsourcing.
    • •Companies with internationalization plans in DACH or Latin America looking for trilingual marketing leadership.
    • •Companies building a new market from the ground up, for example entry into Latin America or DACH: positioning, channels, team and local execution from one hand.

Frequently asked questions about Fractional CMO.

How much does a Fractional CMO cost?

The investment depends on scope and duration. I intentionally do not publish fixed prices because every setup is different. After a first conversation you get a transparent proposal with a clear framework and a clear goal.

How much time do you invest in one company?

As much as it takes to reach the goal. Depending on what matters most right now: intensive build phase, transformation, or steady operation. The scope is defined at the start and reviewed regularly.

What is the difference between a Fractional CMO and an interim Head of Marketing?

In practice the line is blurry. Fractional CMO is more C level and strategic (positioning, budget, reporting, team leadership), interim Head of Marketing is more operational (campaigns, channels, content). I do both depending on the situation.

    When does this make sense?

From the point where marketing becomes too complex for the CEO or a single marketing hire, but a full time CMO would still be underutilized. For most SMEs that is between one and thirty million euros in annual revenue.

What does the timeline look like?

We start with a clear goal and a framework that fits it. Many engagements run over several months, with the option to extend or hand over to a permanent Head of Marketing once the goal is reached.

Do you work remotely or only on site?

Both. My base is Villach, Carinthia. I am regularly on site across DACH; with Latin America I work remotely. For companies outside Austria a mix of on site days and remote work is standard.

Which languages do you work in?

German, English and Spanish (LATAM). This is especially relevant for companies with internationalization plans between DACH and Latin America.

What happens if we want to hire a full time CMO after all?

That is often the goal. I help with recruiting, run the onboarding and hand over the systems cleanly. A good Fractional CMO engagement makes itself obsolete.

Is this the right fit for your company?
